Meet Emily Yumiko Loffler,

Loffler Design is rooted in the belief that spaces should feel both deeply personal and effortlessly elegant. With a background in interior design and nearly a decade of experience with B. Pila Design Studio, with the support and guidance of my mentor and friend Bea, I venture in pursuing this journey on my own.

I approach each project with the intention to bring light to new possibilities, yet authentically reflect the people who live in them.

My design philosophy blends attention to detail and architectural background to creating spaces that are livable, layered, and lasting. I focus on clean lines, natural textures, and nature, always prioritizing how a space feels just as much as how it looks.

The meaning behind the crest

The symbol in my logo is a modern interpretation of my mother’s family crest—the Ochiai mon, a visual tradition that dates back generations in Japan. The name “Ochiai” means where paths meet or where rivers merge. That meaning has always stayed with me—both personally and creatively.

I chose to include this symbol in my branding not only as a way to honor my heritage, but to reflect the essence of my work: the merging of function and beauty, history and modern life, and even - designer and client. It represents the joining of ideas, the meeting of people, and the creation of something entirely new from that intersection—just like the process of interior design.

Design, for me, is not just about aesthetics. It’s about connection. And this crest is a quiet reminder of where I come from—and the thoughtful way I hope to shape every space I touch.
